ICELAND

In the world of design, inspiration and exploration are key in influencing what we as designers produce. Iceland is one place that inspiration and exploration come together to expand ones mind. A small island, around 40,000 square miles, off the coast of Greenland, Iceland holds some of the worlds most breath taking sights and intriguing forms of art and design.

The Einar Jonsson Museum, located on the outskirts of Reykjavik, is a museum dedicated to the artist is also his former home and studio. The museum designed by Jonsson himself is Iceland's first art museum and a national treasure.

Iceland is also home to everything from glaciers, as seen in the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, to Volcanoes, like Mt. Hekla for example. The ever changing landscape and natural wonders that occur here are truly inspirational and put real perspective to the powers of mother nature, something that in recent times has taken a back seat to the advancing technological age. Here you can experience natures unspoiled beauty in places like Snaefellsjokull National Park home to the Snaefallsjokull Glacier, that rests on an active Volcano! Or take in the islands popular destination the Blue Lagoon to rest in the geothermal waters.
