Asia

In expanding one’s knowledge based on travel, I tried focusing on reaching the most extreme. I think to really further education, designers should study a realm the complete opposite of their own. Taking the biggest step able to be taken out of a designer’s comfort zone will really push limits and open eyes to new ideas and studies. In this, one of the places an American designer could travel to is, literally across to the opposite side of the Earth, over to parts of Asia. Aside the great distance, I think Asia is one of the many places with distinct morals, foods, schools, attire, and design ideas from America. It’s important for designers to understand design methods and planning that are different from their own, yet are still just as successful or unsuccessful in the East as is in the West.
