This blog is the "virtual mind" of the seminar "Design, Architecture, and Travel." Reflecting on the tradition of the Grand Tour we ask, what would be its analog today? What should be learned by seeing and where should one go to see it? Furthermore, as a diverse group of designers we reflect on the designer's travel in the "professional mode." Architects typically travel, sketch, take photographs, and so on. What are the analogous practices of a graphic designer, interior designer, or product designer?
Blog entries are organized around a set of reasons to travel (see under "labels"). Toward the end of the semester the list will grow.
