Greece

Greece lies at the juncture of Europe, Asia and Africa. It is heir to the heritages of ancient Greece, the Roman and Byzantine Empires, and nearly four centuries of Ottoman rule. Greece is the birthplace of democracy, Western philosophy, the Olympic games, Western literature and historiography, political science, major scientific and mathematical principles, and Western drama including both tragedy and comedy. The Parthenon is the most representative symbol of the culture and sophistication of the ancient Greeks. It is a temple of the Greek goddess Athena, built in the 5th century BC on the Athenian Acropolis. It is the most important surviving building of Classical Greece, generally considered to be the culmination of the development of the Doric order. Its decorative sculptures are considered one of the high points of Greek art. The Parthenon is regarded as an enduring symbol of ancient Greece and of Athenian democracy, and is one of the world's greatest cultural monuments. Temples were frequently used to store votive offerings. They are the most important and most widespread building type in Greek architecture.
The reason I want to travel Greece again is to escape from modern and go back to ancient where dawn of human history started. Greece is one of the countries, which has long historical background and has many myths of their kingdoms. Our society is turning out being modern. Everything concentrates about quick, fast and functional ability these days. Designers omit the delicate details. Everything is neat and clean. Since our society changes so quick by decades, the remains of ancient civilization feel far away like it only existed for myths. As designer I think it is important to go back in ancient time and refresh our selves and see how they created building and feel how they lived at that time and corporate them with us and bring it back into our society by our projects or works, so we would not lose our history.
